Dear Prison Blues,
I logged in the Sawtooth Mountains for two years, on the Idaho Montana border, and I wore the same pare of Prison Blues logger jeans without washin them. I was a little superstitious and I figured if I didn't wash them I wouldn't get busted up in the woods. I was only twenty five years old then, and now I am thirty two; and I still have that same first pair of Prison Blues jeans. After about six months of slinging chochers and knot bumping on the log landing the pants were water repellant - and they would stand themselves up in a corner they were so stiff.
I recently purchased three more pairs of Prison Blues, and maybe I can last as long as they can out in the woods, but if not I will still wear them every day.

Dear Prison Blues,
I ordered my Black Yard coat from your website. It arrived with in 4 days, Friday morning to be exact. There was a nice break in the weather here in Pittsburgh, PA (Steel City) so I decided to try out the Yard Coat and take my scooter for a ride that evening...
I was headed around this 90 degree bend. Half way around the bend I found a car(cager) on MY side of the road...
The only thing I could do was head for the patch of a field on my right hand side, that\'s where I was headed...
I did not make it to the field patch, I went down on the edge of the road and slid into the field...
Here is the amazing thing, I had road rash all over my legs, I was not wearing Prison Blue Pants, one shoe was missing, nothing was broke, but I had a really swollen ankle...
When I inspected my Black Yard Coat, I did not have one mark on it!! I also didn't have one Road Rash on the upper part of my body!
Now, I'm go'n buy the Prsn Blu Pants also...

Dear Prison Blues,
I stumbled across your site a few months ago while looking for riding gear for my motorcycle. I read your list of "Tough As Nails Tales" and saw the letter singing your praises from a fellow rider who laid his bike down while wearing one of your jackets.
Well, that story, along with the others, convinced me to give your jeans a try. It was a good thing I did. 1 month after receiving my order, a car in downtown San Francisco hit me while I was on my bike. The car swerved right in front of me so that I wound up marring the side of my bike, along with my leg into the front, driver's side of the car at about 30 miles an hour. The car was badly dented, and paint was removed...I looked down at my leg, expecting to see shredded jeans & my beat up leg, but instead, there was the paint from the car "rubbed into" the denim on my jeans!
Not only that, but by some miracle I managed to keep the bike upright and come to a stop on the side of the road. Those are now my lucky jeans and and you can bet that I'll be replacing all my jeans with Prison Blues!

Dear Prison Blues,
Well this is my story an I\'m sticking to it, I am a retailer Store owner an I sell your yard jackets lined an unlined...Well I have sold a lot of them but I had this one customer that bought a jacket an told me he lived up in Alaska an he needed something that would keep him warm when he was riding...Well I get this call asking me to send up 10 more for all his friends that he rides with... He stated that all he wore underneath the jacket was a sweatshirt an that was almost to warm. Plus he said the length of the jacket in the back kept his lower back warm as well. He said that he had serious thoughts of using these jackets as their official club jacket....I thought that was great!
Thanks again....

Dear Prison Blues,
I live in Santa Clara CA and I just got back from the Sturgis event wearing my Full Throttle Saloon Jacket that I purchased when I was there. I bought it on a whim just because it was a bad-ass lookin jacket. I then had a friend bring it back to the hotel room so I wouldn't lose it because I was still partyin. Unfortunately for me, some lowlife stole my leather jacket while I was at the pay phone as I turned my head away from it for like ten seconds…I was totally bummed. So, on my way home, I wore my Prison Blues Jacket all the way back to Cali, and let me tell you, it kept me from freezing my *^&%off! Are you sure it is 100% cotton? cause it kept me warm like it was lined with wool! You guys are great. I am going to order some of your pants and a shirt tomorrow.
Keep up the good work!

Dear Prison Blues,
I was wearing my blues one day when I took my motorcycle out and was hit by a car and drug 100 feet and there was not even 1 hole in them and no damage. They got pretty dirty but I think I would have been hurt worse if I was not wearing my blues. Thank you for the quality of these jeans.

Dear Prison Blues,
I do not have some amazing story to share I just wanted to let you all know how impressed I am with your jeans. My husband goes through work jeans like crazy. Either the knee or the crotch rip out, I was buying him a pair a month. At first, I was buying Levis and at $40 a pair it really added up. Then I switched to a Kmart brand trying to save some money but they were $20 a pair and did not last as long. A friend told us about prison blues so we decided to try them out. Well it has been about 9 months and he has worn through two pairs. Just a couple of days ago he bought two new pairs. They are so durable. The first pair ripped out after he wore them to work every day for about 4 months and the second pair have not ripped out yet. The jeans are great quality and very affordable. I thank you and the guys who make them.

Dear Prison Blues,
My son gave me a pair of prison blues jeans that no longer fit him and were beginning to show the typical signs of age. Two years later those jeans are still going strong. I have painted in them, worked in the garden, and when my other jeans wore through the knees my prison jeans kept on going. Still a little frayer at the bottom but no where near ready to toss out. Besides they just might become a patchwork purse or placemat when the day comes that I can\'t wear them out of the house.

Dear Prison Blues,
I am an ironworker and I have worn your clothing for almost ten years. The jeans are the best thing going. They are comfortable and very longwearing. In my trade, dealing with sparks, flame and fire, clothes have to be tough. Prison Blues has been good to me

Dear Prison Blues,
I was at the Sturgis motorcycle rally in South Dakota this summer when I bought one of your jackets at the Full Throttle Saloon. I bought it because it looked good, seemed durable, and would keep me warm on rides.
It was hotter than hell that week and 105 degrees that day. I left the Saloon late and it was still warm outside. I hopped on my bike and noticed that I had no place to strap the jacket, so I figured I'd just wear it - that was a smart move.
I was riding along - about 20 mph - when I started braking into the first turn. In the evenings they wet the pavement to keep the dust down, and before I knew what happened, I was laid out, and my Harley was sliding on the road. I tore up my bike and got road rash on my hands, knees and head.
Ten stitches later, that jacket had dirt, but no rips, holes or snags. I know this jacket helped me -- I'm sure I would have had road rash and stitches on my arms and torso.
Prison Blues is a very high quality product and I am going to recommend it to everyone I know. And... the damn thing still looks good.
Thank you,
John Nichols |
